That Pie Though....

That Pie Though....

The other night I went to PJ’s Cafe to try some chocolate pie. I have yet to try a chocolate pie I didn’t love. I, of course, wanted another slice of chocolate pie immediately after, but I didn’t want to spend another three dollars. I contemplated trying to make my own, but since I have always assumed that making meringue was hard, I've just stayed away from trying. I went back and forth about it. I kept thinking no it’s too much work, I’ve never made meringue, I’d rather take a nap, I ain’t about that life, and so on and so on. Finally, my frugal ways and my love for pie joined forces and I had no choice, but to start working on a pie!

This, you guys, was the best decision of my life. Okay, maybe not my life, but for sure the best decision I’d made all day. It wasn’t as hard to make as I thought, but it did take me a few hours to complete. Jude my one-year-old didn’t seem to understand that I was about to make history with this pie, and kept wanting to play. I’m highly disappointed with his lack of respect for pie making.

I finished that entire pie by myself in three days. The first slice I tried to cut all pretty, but by the time I got to the last two slices I went ahead and just ate it straight out of the pie plate. I still haven’t mastered the art of making a pretty pie, but I’m going to go ahead and say I’ve mastered the art of making a stinkin' delicious pie.
