That Brownie Recipe Is Like Whoa!

That Brownie Recipe Is Like Whoa!

I’ve been spending less time baking these past few weeks. It’s summer, and the kids are all home. I’m spending my days doing things like telling Tai to clean up after himself, trying to keep Jude from sticking his finger in my belly button, and trying to get Hannah to do her one chore of unloading the dishwasher.

One fun summer project that I thought of for Tai was learning to cook and bake. I figured it would be a fun thing for the both of us since I enjoy cooking and baking. So far, he’s made a pineapple upside down cake, brownies, pancakes, and beef stroganoff.

I quickly realized a few things about myself. Things like, I don’t like sharing my kitchen, I have little patience, I'm a control freak, and I don’t think anyone cleans my kitchen as well as I do. I also realized that if I give up control and relax a bit, I can teach Tai some life skills and I can actually enjoy the process.

My favorite recipe this week was the brownie recipe. So here it is. I highly recommend you try it out.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. mix dry ingredients
  2. add wet ingredients
  3. mix until combined
  4. grease a 9 X 13 pan
  5. spread batter evenly
  6. bake for 25 minutes at 350

Oh and moms, if any of you decide to take on a project like this, just remember to breathe deep and smell those brownies cooking in the oven. They will make it all worth it!
