Irving's Top 5 Donut Shops

Irving's Top 5 Donut Shops

I love donuts. I mean, seriously who doesn't? For years I’ve wanted to find the best donut in Irving, but I just hadn't done it. Where are my priorities, right?!

First let's make one thing clear, there is no such thing as a bad donut, and that’s just a fact of life. It’s dough that’s fried and covered in some sort of deliciousness.

This past Saturday I went out searching for my favorite donut shop in the area.  In addition to getting to eat really tasty donuts, I also realized that Tai, my 11-year-old, wakes up quick if I say “let’s go get donuts.” So in the morning I’ll start saying that instead of “it’s time for school."

Well, here’s my top 5 list in order from 1st best to 5th best. Please try them and let me know what you guys think.

The Donut King - 638 N MacArthur Blvd, Irving, TX 75061

These were my favorite. They had a nice variety of specialty donuts, including a maple BACON donut (yes bacon). The glazed donut was just perfect in flavor, sweetness, and it was just heaven in a dough ball. They were also super nice and had two registers open which made things quick.

6th Street Donut - 1002 W 6th St, Irving, TX 75060

The drive thru here is a huge perk, and they have a decent sized dining area if you want to eat your donut there. They had a red velvet donut which is something you don’t see everywhere. The glazed donut was melt in your mouth delicious. I will probably have to start alternating between 6th Street Donut & The Donut King because they were both so good!

Kountry Donuts - 3048 N Belt Line Rd, Irving, TX 75062

Okay so this place has a drive thru, they were the nicest, she made sure I got a warm donut, and the donuts are HUGE. Like way bigger than average. The glazed donut was good, but not as sweet as the others. I didn’t mind it being less sweet. Seriously though you have to see how big these are.

Shin’s Donuts - 8251 N Belt Line Rd # 140, Irving, TX 75063

This place had good donuts, and she threw in free donut holes. I love it when they do that! Another perk was that they had chocolate cake donuts with both kinds of sprinkles. That’s not easy to find. Most donut shops don’t do any sprinkles on the chocolate cake donuts. Make sure to check out the little display of crocheted donuts they have hanging on the wall!

Cliff’s Donuts - 2433 W Shady Grove Rd. Irving, TX 75060

Cliff’s was good and had a drive thru, but I guess I can’t think of anything that particularly stood out to me. Still just a really good donut.

So tell me, which is your favorite?
