Pumpkin Spice Latte Fail
Back in July for my 35th birthday, I got a five dollar Starbucks gift card from my realtor Pat O'Reilly. So as any reasonable person would do, I saved it for the Pumpkin Spice Latte that would be coming back in September.
Today as I was heading to drop Hannah and Tai off at school I was pretty much just thinking of the PSL that I was going to get afterward. I hope they didn’t talk about anything deep and meaningful because I totally wasn’t listening. I know kids think us moms are always listening intently to their every word, but sometimes we’re just thinking about a latte.
I dropped them off headed to Starbucks and thought to myself “this feels like Christmas”! I pulled up to the drive-thru and ordered my tall PSL. I didn’t even want to take a sip because I wanted my first sip to be perfect, and since I’d made a cinnamon loaf, I thought it’d be best to wait.
As soon as I got home, I took my first sip, and I wasn’t blown away as I was most certainly expected to be! So I take another sip then another and nothing. I thought it was way too sweet and was wishing I had my plain regular coffee. I realized at that very moment that my taste buds had turned into old lady taste buds! So next year when my realtor sends me a birthday gift card from Starbucks, which by the way I will be expecting every year from now on, I will instead order a regular coffee. If I do that, I can even have two coffees for the price of one of those fancy ones all the young kids are getting nowadays.
