I'll Show You My Budget If You Show Me Yours
What the buster! I’m over budget!!!! I had an extra hard time with my grocery budget this month. By extra hard time I guess I mean, I went over budget by quite a bit for February. How much is quite a bit to me you ask? About a hundred bucks. Food is my weakness! Clearly right? I write a blog about food. Seriously though I love food. When I’m at the grocery store, I’m a sucker for food in cute packaging. Drinks in pretty bottles, snacks in cool containers and anything that says it’s 100% something pretty much makes me want to buy it. Yes, I know I’m being conned by clever marketing, but I’m okay with that. I say conned, but I mean not really, my grocery budget is very modest VERY VERY modest. By modest I mean "dang can I have a dollar for some kool-aid packets?!" So, I can’t afford to be conned. I don’t want to make this sound like I’m complaining about my grocery budget, though. I am choosing that budget life. I started budgeting the Dave Ramsey way back in 2010. At the time I had 20,000 dollars worth of student loans and no money in savings. Today I’m debt-free except for the mortgage. Going over budget for February is a big deal because I know that I never want to go back to living paycheck to paycheck. So for March I’ll go ahead and put that Simply Lemonade with Mango back on the shelf and make sure I stick to my budget.
